NY Orthopedic Surgeon to be Medical Director at New Ambulatory Surgery Center

David S. Levine, MD, an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon in New York, has announced that he will be offering his services as Medical Director at the Hospital for Special Surgery Ambulatory Surgery Center. The new Ambulatory Surgery Center will open in May 2017. The state of the art, single specialty, orthopedic ASC will be located at 1233 Second Avenue (at 65th Street) New York, NY. The new building will have four fully functional operating rooms.

Dr. Levine himself says: "This is the first opportunity for physicians to partner with the Hospital in ways in which the Hospital and doctors have not partnered before - to have shared leadership and decision-making in place and to align together."

David Levine, who along with having his own practice, is an Associate Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery. He is also an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and Associate Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He specializes in fractures and dislocations of the foot and ankle, post-traumatic reconstruction of the foot and ankle, arthrodesis / arthroplasty / tendon transfers, orthopedic trauma surgery, and orthopedic surgery. New York Magazine has named him as one of the best doctors of 2016.

Dr. Levine is highly respected by both his peers and his patients. One patient states on Google+: "I had a large osteochondral defect in my ankle joint 8 years ago. I am very active with tennis and paddle and was sure I would never play again. I could only take very small steps and walking was becoming more difficult. Dr. Levine cleaned up the joint. I limped for maybe six months after (built up some scar tissue) and now rarely think about it. I went to the best person and the result was terrific. It was a wakeup call to see how not being able to ambulate properly can be a life changer. Thank you, Dr. Levine."

The NY orthopedic surgeon is looking forward to the opening of the new ambulatory surgery center, and to the new partnerships that can be formed for the benefit of patients and professionals alike. Dr. David S. Levine encourages anyone with orthopedic problems that may need foot and ankle surgery in the NY area to contact his office as soon as possible to discuss what solutions are available.
