MathFileFolderGames.com Hosts Virtual Math Summit

MathFileFolderGames.com, a Canadian educational publisher, has made their intention clear to launch a Virtual Math Summit. This summit will act as a learning and teaching tool for math teachers to help other math teachers within the industry. The company is hoping to expand their list of presenters and encourages those interested in learning more to visit them online. They explain:

"These are amazing teachers on the cutting edge of education and technology. That will be sharing resources, lesson planning, and their best strategies to help make your classroom amazing."

This Virtual Online Math Summit is a free event, which will be taking place over a period of ten days in February of 2016. The summit will proceed over a five day stretch, followed by a weekend break and another five days of presentations. Each day will include a long presentation of an hour and a half or more, as well as three shorter presentations of ten to thirty minutes each. An ongoing online chat will also be available for participants.

The digital conference is created For Math Teachers By Math Teachers and offers a new theme each day that participants take part. It is geared toward school teachers of all age groups in all parts of the world, not just North America. The company has expressed that because math is a universal language, this is something that be shared by all math teachers. MathFileFolderGames.com has also said the following regarding the Online Math Summit: "Topics such as flipping the classroom, Geogebra, standards based grading, interactive math notebooks (with foldables), real world math, project work in math class, and math games are currently on the program."

The Virtual Online Math Summit requires no travel and can be enjoyed from the privacy of the home, the classroom, or anywhere else that a teacher may prep and plan. The current host of the summit, Justin Holladay, is also currently seeking a co-host for the event, along with the call for participant presenters. Anybody who is interested in this position can submit a proposal and apply for the position through the summit website. The hope is that thousands will login to take part and share their love of math and teaching.
